Philadelphia Eagles fans found a crafty way to start tailgating ahead of time on Saturday.
The Eagles will be facing off with the New York Giants in what will be their biggest game since they won the Super Bowl five years ago. The Eagles, who had the joint-best record in the league, will be hosting the game at Lincoln Financial Field.
Of course, fans were excited about the opportunity to tailgate. However, the aforementioned venue wouldn’t open until 4 PM, four hours and 15 minutes before the 8:15 PM kickoff. That’s just not enough time to tailgate before such a big game.
Thinking Outside The Lot
Although fans weren’t allowed to park in the stadium’s lots for the Giants game until 4 PM, they could have done so for other events. So they were in luck.
As it turned out, the Philadelphia Wings were playing the Toronto Rock in a National League Lacrosse game at the Wells Fargo Center just next door. So fans bought tickets to that game in order to access the parking lot.
Because of this, fans were able to pull up and tailgate from 8 AM, giving them an additional eight hours.
