The Philadelphia Eagles are coming off a season in which they were just one win away from being Super Bowl champions.
They haven’t had as good an offseason but, as rumor would have it, that could change significantly as it’s being reported that the NFC outfit could trade up in relation to this week’s NFL Draft. The Eagles are currently set to draft at 10th in the first round but are said to be keen on moving up.
According to a recent report, Philadelphia has been reaching out to other teams to find out what it would take to get a higher draft pick, though they aren’t looking to move into the top five considering what it would cost them.
“NFL team sources have told WalterFootball.com that Philadelphia has made calls to see what it would take for teams to move down to the 10th-overall pick,” the report reads. “Given the cost of trading in the top 10, the Eagles are not looking to move into the top five.”
The source seems to suggest that the NFC champs are looking to sign Jalen Carter should he still be available after the first five teams have picked.
“Their calls have focused on the teams in the back half of the first round,” it adds. “Of course, for a trade to happen, Carter would have to slip past No. 5 in the 2023 NFL Draft. The only top-five-picking team that looks like a possibility for Carter is the Seahawks with the fifth selection.”

The Eagles moved up to take Jordan Davis at No. 13 in 2022 and could repeat this year. Having taken care of their main offseason priority in extending Jalen Hurts, the team could be looking to strengthen other areas.
They were rumored to be on the verge of trading for Tennessee Titans running back Derrick Henry a few days ago but it appears there might be nothing to that.
