Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Darius Slay has revealed plans to retire at the end of the 2025 NFL season.
Slay is preparing for another shot at a ring after falling short two years ago, with the Eagles set to take on the Kansas City Chiefs at Super Bowl 59 in New Orleans on Sunday. Should he help them win that elusive title, his chances of sticking around will be a lot greater than if not.
Slay will be a free agent at the end of the term and would prefer to remain in Philadelphia. But he doesn’t see himself playing past 2025, wherever he ends up.
“Next year will most likely be my last. I would love for it to be with the Philadelphia Eagles,” he said on Wednesday, per Nicki Jhabvala.
Darius Slay wants to play 13 seasons and then call it a career. “Next year will most likely be my last. I would love for it to be with the Philadelphia Eagles.”

Darius Slay has been one of the NFL’s best and most consistent CBs over the span of his career. The 34-year-old has played in 177 games, registering 28 interceptions, three of them returned for touchdowns, 160 passes defended, and over 600 tackles. He led the league in INTs while with the Detroit Lions in 2017.
The six-time Pro Bowler has been great for the Eagles in the playoffs, having made 12 tackles and defended five passes in his three appearances.

Another Eagles Superstar Set To Retire After Super Bowl
Meanwhile, another Eagles star has revealed he will retire after this season, with Super Bowl 59 to be his last game.
Brandon Graham, who suffered what should have been a season-ending torn triceps in Week 12, is looking to return for the final game of the campaign and has suggested that he will play.
Graham, who spent his entire career with the Eagles, helped them win a Super Bowl in 2018. He made the most memorable defensive play of the game when he stripped Tom Brady to give his team possession at a crucial time.
The Eagles will certainly hope he can make such a contribution against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Darius Slay will be looking to make some big plays himself.
