Peyton Manning and Eli Manning couldn’t help but poke some fun at Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb and offensive coordinator Kellen Moore after the former dropped what should have been an easy catch in Monday’s Week 3 road game against the New York Giants.
Dallas had a chance to add to their 6-3 lead late in the second quarter with the ball at their own 48-yard line. Quarterback Cooper Rush spotted a wide open Lamb downfield for what could have been a touchdown, or at least a significant gain into Giants territory.
But he couldn’t hold on, and it cost Dallas a prime opportunity to score before the end of the half.
The two Manning brothers, with special guest Pat McAfee on the broadcast, roasted Lamb and Moore over the miscue during Monday’s edition of the “Manningcast.”
Peyton sarcastically says “Awesome job, CeeDee! Way to go buddy, proud of ya! We’re about to punt again!”

The Cowboys had to punt the ball back to the Giants, who proceeded to turn the ball over on downs in the waning seconds of the first half.
Heading into Week 3, the Lamb had a mere nine receptions for 104 yards and zero touchdowns on the young season. Of course, the absence of Michael Gallup (recovering from a torn ACL) and the loss of Amari Cooper (traded to the Cleveland Browns) has made things a lot easier for opposing defenses against Lamb.
The Oklahoma product had a superb rookie year despite missing Dak Prescott for most of the season. Lamb recorded 74 catches for 935 yards and five touchdowns, and he followed it up with an excellent sophomore campaign that saw him catch 79 passes for 1,102 yards and six touchdowns.
Dallas fell 19-3 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 1 but rebounded with a 20-17 home win against the defending AFC Champion Cincinnati Bengals. After their game with the Giants, the Cowboys will return home for a meeting with the NFC East rival Washington Commanders.
