NFL Network’s Peter Schrager could have been a whole lot richer had he bet on his Super Bowl picks over the last five years.
Schrager is now the man to listen to when it comes to NFL futures as he has correctly predicted the last five Super Bowl winners, making his predictions before the beginning of each campaign to come up looking like a genius.
He’s even predicted who they’ll beat.
“Annual tradition, 30 minutes before Week 1 kicks off…Super Bowl pick: Chiefs over 49ers,” he tweeted right before the Chiefs lost to the Lions on September 7.
Erich Richter of the New York Post has pointed out that the Super Bowl guru could have made an astounding amount of money had he placed bets on his predictions.
“Starting with the Chiefs’ victory in 2020 with a $100 bet, Schrager would’ve profited $600, turning that money into $700, and then the big win on Tom Brady’s Buccaneers at 10/1 in 2020 would’ve won him $7,000,” he explained.
“Two successful seasons would’ve had him at a $7,700 bet on the Rams at 12/1 in 2021, which would’ve won him $92,400, bringing his total up to $100,100.
“Kansas City at 10/1 on a $100,100 bet would’ve won him $1,001,000; he now would have had $1,101,100.
“If he threw the entire million on the Chiefs +600, he would have some very angry sportsbooks and a profit of $6,606,600. Mr. Schrager could’ve been a millionaire, having grown the old gambling account from $100 to $7,707,700 in just five years.”

Schrager might regret not making some money off his picks. Then again, we can’t be sure he didn’t place a few wagers. Anyone would be tempted to try their luck with the sportsbooks after getting two straight picks correct, let alone three.
Who knows, though? He could leverage his expertise into a deal with a bookmaker. The likes of Lakers star LeBron James and NBA insider Shams Charania have gotten deals with DraftKings and FanDuel respectively, so why not him?
As to whether his contract with NFL media will allow such is something else altogether.
