Russell Wilson and head coach Pete Carroll were together in Seattle for 10 years, most notably winning a Super Bowl in 2014. The Seattle Seahawks traded Wilson to Denver in March and things have gone much better for Seattle than in denver this season.
Former teammates of Wilson — and players he won a Super Bowl with — such as Richard Sherman and Doug Baldwin, made Tweets criticizing-slash-mocking the Broncos throughout this season.
Now, it’s Pete carroll’s turn.
During his radio show on Monday night, Carroll appeared to take shots at his former QB as he mentioned that Geno Smith has worn a wristband this year to help to the play-calling process. It sounds like Wilson never did that.
“If you notice, Geno’s going off the wristband, and that’s a big help,” he said. “It’s smoothed things out, sped things up, cleaned things up. And that’s part of it, too. We never did that before. There was resistance to that, so we didn’t do that before.”

Carroll then added praise for the connection between Smith and offensive coordinator Shane Waldron.
“When Shane says something to Geno, he’s not doubting it. He’s just going with it, so there’s a real immediate flow and that accelerates all the process,” Carroll said. “… He’s functioning really comfortably regardless of what the circumstances are.”
During Week 1 of the season, Wilson gave his best performance of the year when he finished the game against the Seahawks with 340 passing yards, one passing touchdown and a 101.3 quarterback rating, completing 29 of 42 throws. However, Denver fumbled inside Seattle’s 5-yard line twice and it cost them big time.
Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith, who backed up Wilson from 2019-21, finished the game with 195 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and a 119.5 quarterback rating, completing 23 of 28 throws.
Russell Wilson leads Denver with 1,694 yards on 134-of-228 passing with six touchdowns compared to four interceptions this season.
