Pete Carroll might be 69-years-old, but he isn’t scared to get his feet dirty.
During practice on Saturday, wide receiver Cody Thompson caught a pass during a drill, which caused Carroll to go for the ball. Thompson grabbed the coach and stripped it as he and Carroll dove for it.
“I was going for the forced fumble there, did you see that?” Pete Carroll said. “I was getting the ball out. Ball came out, I didn’t come up with it though. I think a couple years back I’d have come up with that ball, but Cody did a better job scrambling for it.”
Not bad defense from the head coach. If the team truly wants some more help on the defensive side, they just might look into contacting Richard Sherman.
Fully healthy in 2019, he earned Second-Team All-Pro honors and made the Pro Bowl as a member of the 49ers. Sherman, a fifth-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, spent seven seasons in Seattle and became one of the most impactful defensive players of his generation. The 33-year-old is still a free agent months after most of the top talent got signed.

Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll seems open to bringing him back, via Seahawks.com:
“We’re always open. I’ve talked to Sherm quite a few times over the offseason. We have stayed in contact. He’s out there and I know he’s thinking about it. He’s looking for an opportunity. I saw where he said there’s three or four teams that he’s considering. We’ll see what happens but he’s been a great player and he’s still got some ball left in him I’m sure.”
