The NFL season won’t kickoff for another four months as Russell Wilson is getting set to play his first game as a member of the Denver Broncos. Before that happens, he is being pursued by something other than a defensive player in the offseason.
Earlier this week, Russell Wilson and Ciara welcomed a new puppy and were excited about the addition to their family. However, the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals were upset to learn the dog was obtained from a breeder, rather than rescued from a shelter.
PETA says it’s clear that Russ and Ciara’s new dog is a purebred puppy, likely obtained from a breeder where “mother dogs are often locked inside filthy cages and bred over and over until their bodies give out.” They even took time to troll Ciara with her own lyrics by saying Wilson made a “’One, Two Step’ mistake by killing a shelter dog’s chances of finding a home.”
PETA kept going by informing TMZ they’re “calling on the couple to ‘Level Up’ on kindness by adopting a companion for this pup instead of fueling the homeless-animal crisis.”
Don’t expect either Ciara or Russ to respond to PETA.
