For what seems like an annual thing with Rob Gronkowski, he just might be playing his final game for the New England Patriots on Sunday if they go down to the Los Angeles Chargers.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Patriots tight end is “expected to weigh retirement” following the end of the Patriots playoff run.
The 29-year-old tight end also discussed leaving the game for good after the 2017 season, mostly because there were discussions from within the organization about possibly trading him to the Detroit Lions.
Gronkowski caught just 47 passes and three touchdowns during the 2018 season. His 52.5 yards per game in 2018 was by far his lowest since his rookie year in 2010.
