The New England Patriots are reportedly still in talks to sign two of the best wide receivers in the NFL, with negotiations expected to intensify closer to the NFL Draft.
That is according to the Boston Sports Journal’s Greg A. Bedard, who reports the team remains interested in trading for both Jerry Jeudy and DeAndre Hopkins.
The Pats are moving forward with Mac Jones as their starting quarterback, whether Bill Belichick likes it or not. And, after a failed season which the head coach can take the blame for given his staffer appointments, New England seems keen on surrounding Jones with the best offensive weapons they can.
They were reported to have made calls to the Denver Broncos and Arizona Cardinals about possibly trading for the wideouts earlier this month and were also in attendance when Odell Beckham Jr. held his workout in Arizona.
The six-time Super Bowl winners have signed JuJu Smith-Schuster to a three-year deal following his successful season with the Kansas City Chiefs but have lost Nelson Agholor to free agency, with the 29-year-old now with the Baltimore Ravens.

It would be quite the masterstroke should Belichick land both Jeudy and Hopkins but Broncos head coach Sean Payton has revealed that the team has no interest in trading Jeudy, though they have been on the receiving end of inquiries.
Hopkins, on the other hand, has been granted permission to speak to other teams.
