The New England Patriots may have changed the game forever with one defensive play.
While the Miami Dolphins were trying to extend their lead, the Patriots had a trick up their sleeves as they sent a man in motion on a field goal try and made it so much easier for them to block it.
Brenden Schooler got in off the edge and blocked the Dolphins’ 49-yard field goal attempt.
It was the first blocked field goal for New England since Week 8 of 2017 against the Chargers.
That blocked field goal led the team to eventually score in the fourth quarter and making it a one-possession game.
