Huge news dropped on Thursday when Patrick Chung found himself being indicted on the charge of possession of cocaine by the Belknap County attorney’s office in New Hampshire.
According to court records, the incident occurred “on or about June 25.”
About an hour after the news dropped, the Patriots made sure to send out a statement that seemed to read as if they had no plans on doing anything to Chung as far as his roster spot and let the indictment play out.
The 32-year-old safety just signed an extension with the Patriots this offseason, which added another year on to the two remaining on his contract.
During 15 games played for the Patriots in 2018, Chung racked up 84 tackles, a half sack, an interception, a fumble recovery and three pass defenses.
