New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft has revealed he hasn’t spoken to Donald Trump since early 2021.
Kraft has supported Trump in the past, making a sizable donation to the former United States President after his inauguration. However, with Trump looking to return to office this year, Kraft has revealed that they have not spoken since the Capitol riot, despite being very sociable with each other since the 90s.
“Donald Trump became a social friend in the early ‘90s,” Kraft said during a recent appearance on ‘The Breakfast Club.’ “When I was going down to Florida. And then when my wife died 13 years ago, he was one of four or five people who reached out to me and was really, really nice.
“The only donation I ever gave to him was he called me when he got elected, and I made a strong donation to his inauguration. I couldn’t believe it; it was like having someone who was a drunk fraternity brother become president of the United States.”

Kraft is hardly the only one who ended his relationship with Trump following the riot, with the event prompting a shift given its divisive nature.
The Pats owner has had other bones to pick with the former POTUS, who he referred to as “divisive and horrible” in leaked tapes from an NFL meeting in 2017. Kraft was unhappy with the then-president’s reaction to NFL players kneeling during the national anthem, but it appears the insurrection attempt was the final straw for him.
