With Super Bowl 58 just around the corner, New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft will have some involvement, although his team won’t, having failed to make it past the regular season.
Kraft has announced that he will be funding a commercial through his non-profit organization, Foundation to Combat Antisemitism.
The foundation has put a 30-second ad together to promote its “Stand Up to Jewish Hate” campaign.
“With the horrific rise in Jewish hate and all hate across our nation, we must stand up and take urgent action now,” Kraft said in a statement. “For the first time, FCAS will air an emotive ad during the Super Bowl, football’s ultimate championship game which brings people of all backgrounds together, to showcase examples of how people can #StandUptoJewishHate and inspire more people to join the fight against all hate.”
As noted in his announcement, this will be a first for said foundation. Kraft is hoping that the move will inspire people of all ethnicities and backgrounds to be “vocal upstanders for the Jewish community and to stand up against all forms of hate.”
Meanwhile, the big game is scheduled for February 11 and will air on CBS.
