A well-known Boston sports fan and social media personality has received a scoop about major trouble brewing in the New England Patriots organization.
According to the popular @SavageSports_ X/Twitter account, a bombshell announcement may be coming involving New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft and former head coach Jerod Mayo. Here’s what they wrote in a series of X posts:
“Hearing some weird info from a bunch of different people about Mayo – Kraft. Don’t know what’s true or not and don’t know what’s gonna come out. Some people even speculating a lawsuit before Patriots free agency.
All I’m saying is if Robert Kraft gets the organization in enough trouble to lose the Patriots draft picks this year, he needs to step away from all decision making. Again, you need to see what actually comes out.
I’m not just making stuff up. There’s some potential the Patriots organization could get in trouble. Hoping I’m wrong.”
In subsequent replies to other users, @SavageSports_ said they hope what they’ve been told is “false” and that the Patriots being stripped of draft selections is simply the “worst case” scenario.
It’s anybody’s guess what exactly the X account heard, but it’s certainly something worth following in Patriots land. If nothing ends up coming out, then the account may have some explaining to do.

There’s some potential the Patriots organization could get in trouble.

The Patriots aren’t strangers to facing punishment from the NFL. They were fined and docked draft picks from the well-documented “Spygate”, “Spygate II” and “Deflategate” scandals.
Kraft surprised many when he fired Mayo after just one season as the New England Patriots head coach. 2024 was always going to be a season of growing pains, and Mayo had long been viewed as Bill Belichick’s successor before taking over a year ago.
After firing Mayo, Kraft quickly hired Vrabel, a key cog of New England’s first three Super Bowl championship-winning teams. Vrabel was also head coach of the Tennessee Titans from 2018 to 2023, compiling a 54-45-0 record and leading them to three playoff appearances.
New England Patriots Face A Long & Busy Offseason
The Patriots haven’t won a playoff game in six years and just missed the postseason for the fourth time in five years. Patience is wearing thin among Patriots fans, and the pressure is on Kraft and company to build another winner in the post-Belichick era.
With the No. 4 draft pick and a plethora of cap space, the Patriots are well-positioned to make several big moves. With Vrabel aboard, it’ll be interesting to see what kind of roster changes the AFC East club makes.
