This can’t seriously happen, right? The Miami Dolphins, the franchise that has been to the playoffs twice since 2002, might actually have a chance to sign future Hall of Famer and greatest quarterback of all-time, Tom Brady.
NBC Sports Boston’s Tom Curran went on the Rich Eisen Show earlier this week to discuss the situation in New England with Brady and just so happened to mention the Dolphins as a potential landing spot if Brady and the Patriots divorce this offseason.
“What would be ideal? Honestly, Rich — knowing who he is, since he’s been in the public consciousness for 20 years and more? He wants to be able to prove something to somebody who thought that he couldn’t do something. That he was unable to continue at a level. And that’s why I keep coming back to the Miami Dolphins as a possibility,” said Curran.
“It’s got a Michigan man/friend, Stephen Ross, in charge. It’s got Jerry Schuplinski as quarterbacks coach and Chad O’Shea as your offensive coordinator. Brian Flores as the head coach. It’s got defensive personnel on the other side and it’s certainly got a culture that’s being instilled this year.”
Brady has been public enemy No. 1 for Miami for the better part of the last 20 years, so it’s hard to fathom how the fan base would just accept him after watching his non-stop success while they dealt with misery year after year. Brady will no doubt go down as the greatest to ever do it, but a 43-year-old QB isn’t coming in and saving the Dolphins franchise.
