Well, Monday came and went and the New England Patriots did exactly what people thought they would when they elected to not pay Antonio Brown $5 million.
“Per a league source, the Patriots did not pay Brown $5 million, the first installment of the signing bonus, on or before the Monday deadline specified in his contract.”
PFT goes on to explain that the Patriots might ultimately end up failing because Brown did not commit a “forfeitable breach” under the terms of the labor deal.
The report goes on to state that the Patriots will have to argue that they never would’ve signed Brown if they knew about a potential lawsuit that did not surface until days after signing him.
The 7-time pro bowler took shots at Pats owner Robert Kraft on Twitter Friday, bringing up his soliciting charge at a Florida massage parlor.
“Kraft never writing that check, no matter what the ruling is now,” a source told ESPN.com.

Brown is expected to file a grievance that is aimed at getting the $9 million in guaranteed dollars that he signed for, which includes the balance of his $1 million guaranteed salary.
