New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick will make a special appearance for ESPN’s “College GameDay” program this Saturday.
On Thursday, the Worldwide Leader in Sports announced that Belichick will be the special guest picker this Saturday. ESPN will set up shop at the Patriots’ home venue of Gillette Stadium, which is playing host to the Army vs. Navy Game.
Belichick is usually a man of few words when it comes to speaking to the media. But nobody can match Belichick’s storied NFL head coaching career, nor his knowledge or passion for the game of football.
That side of Belichick is often shown for documentaries and other TV specials. He received critical acclaim for his tireless work on the “National Football League 100th Anniversary All-Time Team” program, giving in-depth insight and analysis on all the NFL greats voted to the team.
It should be a nice breath of fresh air for Belichick, who’s enduring by far his worst season as an NFL head coach. His Patriots enter Thursday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with a 2-10 record, having already clinched the franchise’s worst record since his first year as New England’s HC in 2000.

The Patriots went 5-11 that year, and it would be their last losing season until 2020, when the Tom Brady-less group went 7-9.
Belichick’s future in New England has been a hot talking point throughout the forgettable year in Foxborough. We’ll find out in approximately a month’s time if 2023 is indeed the last year of Belichick’s storied tenure with the Patriots.
