Bill Belichick gave a typical Bill Belichick-like response to a reporter’s question about his job security in New England.
Questions about Belichick’s future in Foxborough have been running rampant throughout a miserable year for the once-proud organization. The Patriots lost 10-6 to the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday in Frankfurt, Germany, to fall to 2-8 on the season.
Per Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, Belichick had a 10-word response to a reporter’s question regarding his job security:
“Well, I just do the best I can every day,” Belichick said.
“I think we’re all disappointed in the season. But we’ll keep going here. Seven games to go. Be ready to go next week against the Giants,” he added on a follow-up question.

The Patriots had only winning seasons from 2001 to 2019, and they only missed the postseason twice during that span. But they’re now headed for a third losing and non-playoff season in four years, and the Pats are just one defeat away from matching last year’s loss total.
New England will now go on a much-needed bye week before visiting Belichick’s old team, the New York Giants, at MetLife Stadium in Week 12.
