Denver Broncos wide receivers Jerry Jeudy and Courtland Sutton have popped up in trade speculation in recent weeks, but it remains to be seen if they’ll actually make a transaction on either.
According to a report from Benjamin Allbright of Sportsnaut, the Cleveland Browns and New England Patriots are among the teams interested in Jeudy. Allbright reported, however, that both clubs have been unwilling to give up a first-rounder for the Alabama product:
“The Dallas Cowboys had checked in heavily but ultimately gave up significantly less to acquire Brandin Cooks. Cleveland and New England remain interested in Jeudy but have shown an unwillingness to move a first rounder for him.
On the other hand, Sutton can likely be had for a Day 3 pick. It affords Denver some cap relief and his skillset is likely redundant with Tim Patrick in the new offense Sean Payton will be running. I know of several teams interested in Sutton and would be surprised if he were not moved.”
The Broncos are coming off a miserable 5-12 season, the first under quarterback Russell Wilson. Denver surrendered a first-round pick to the New Orleans Saints so they could hire Sean Payton as the new head coach, a strong indicator that the Broncos are still trying to win now win-now mode.
Trading Sutton or Jeudy would leave a gaping hole at wideout, though the Broncos would theoretically have the chance to trade for another big name like DeAndre Hopkins/and or sign a former Pro Bowler like Odell Beckham Jr. to fill the void.
Jeudy is coming off the best season of his young career in which he recorded 67 receptions for 972 yards and six touchdowns. If he didn’t miss two games, Jeudy would have likely recorded the first 1,000-yard season of his career.
In 2020, Jeudy recorded 52 receptions for 856 yards and three touchdowns. He missed seven games in 2021 and finished the season with 38 catches for 467 yards and zero touchdowns.

The Patriots made one big splash at wide receiver by signing JuJu Smith-Schuster last week but could use a speedy and elite route-runner like Jeudy. The Browns need another pass-catcher to complement Pro Bowler Amari Cooper, but only time will tell if they’ll address that void before the draft.
