Last weekend, Patrick Mahomes suffered an ankle sprain that seemed like it would have him out for the rest of the divisional game against the Jaguars. Despite how severe it looked, the star QB returned to the game in the second half and led his team to a victory.
With the AFC Championship Game on the horizon, Mahomes’ trainer, Bobby Stroupe, gave an update on his ankle in a hilarious way by posting a fake photo of an x-ray that featured a dog.
If you’re familiar, it means Mahomes has that “dawg” in him.
On a serious note, Mahomes stated on Friday that his ankle is a bit sore, but made it clear he is doing everyhting possible to effective on sunday.
“I felt better than I thought I was going to be after the game. Moving on it during the game definitely hurt. But after the game, I was able to rest it and kind of ice it up and do different stuff like that,” Mahomes told reporters. “I felt in a little bit better position, and obviously the next morning felt a little bit better, and then I’ve continued to get better throughout the week, so we’ll see how I feel today at practice.”
The Bengals, the No. 3 seed in the AFC, have owned the Chiefs, the No. 1 seed, in the three meetings since Cincinnati drafted Joe Burrow. Burrow, who was selected first overall in the 2020 draft, is not just 3-0 against the Chiefs and their superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but he also has thrown for 982 yards, with eight touchdown passes and just one interception in those games.

Mahomes is considered by most as the best quarterback in the league. but he certainly needs to get this win to quiet down the noise that Burrow could be coming for his title sooner rather than later.
