The Patrick Mahomes-Justin Herbert rivalry should be an entertaining one for years to come in the AFC West. And the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback just added a little more fuel to the fire with his recent comments to a heckler during the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament this past weekend.
During the final round on Sunday, as Mahomes was making his way down the fairway, a hot mic caught one fan telling the former MVP, “Watch out for Justin Herbert next year,” to which Mahomes replied, “I’ll see it when I believe it.”
I guess Mahomes didn’t quite see enough of it when Herbert went off for 4,336 yards and 31 touchdowns in 15 games as a rookie — which included 613 yards, four touchdowns, and a 1-1 record in two games against Patty’s Chiefs in 2020.
Herbert will have another chance to show Mahomes what he’s got when the two teams square off in week 3 at Arrowhead.
