In three days, Patrick Mahomes will look to win his second Super Bowl when his Kansas City Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.
Mahomes won his first Super Bowl as a 24-year-old with the Chiefs back in the 2019 season. What followed was a disappointing Super Bowl 55 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and then a heartbreaking overtime loss to the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2021 AFC Championship Game.
Finally, Mahomes and his Chiefs get a second chance at winning Lombardi Trophy No. 2 together. And the opponent just happens to be Andy Reid’s old team in the Eagles, whom he coached from 1999 to 2012.
The following tweet of a nine-year-old Mahomes making a prediction for Super Bowl 39 between the Eagles and Philadelphia Eagles is going viral. Mahomes’ prediction was published in the Tyler Morning Telegraph, a newspaper in Tyler, Texas:

Mahomes and Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts were nominated for MVP honors along with Josh Allen (Buffalo Bills), Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals) and Justin Jefferson (Minnesota Vikings), though Mahomes is viewed as the clear-cut favorite to win the honors.
Both Kansas City and Philadelphia finished as the No. 1 seeds in their respective conferences with identical 14-3 records. This is the first Super Bowl with two No. 1 seeds since Super Bowl 52, where the Eagles beat the Patriots to win their first Lombardi Trophy.
