Patrick Mahomes looked like his postseason would be over when he injured his right ankle in a brutal way in the first half on Saturday against the Jags.
Now, we have a clear diagnosis of what the MVP candidate was and is dealing with.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said: “MRI today confirmed that Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain during Saturday’s win over the Jaguars, per league source. “Nothing more than that,” said one source, and Mahomes has said he plans to play in next Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.”
Mahomes would stay in the game after getting hurt, but he would soon be told to go to the locker room for x-rays, which was something he did not want to do judging off his reaction to Andy Reid delivering that information.
He remained out for the rest of the second quarter but came back to play in the second half to seal up a 27-20 win.
The Chiefs will likely shoot that ankle up with so much drugs, he’ll be floating on the field for next week’s game.
