Patrick Mahomes Speaks Out On Being Critical of The NFL’s COVID-19 Response (TWEET)

With NFL training camps set to begin as early as Monday, players engaged in a coordinated effort to blast the NFL’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Twitter.

Players like Russell Wilson, Patrick Mahomes, and J.J. Watt were among the big-name players who voiced their concerns on Twitter using the hashtag “We Want To Play.”

The league informed teams Saturday that training camps will begin as scheduled despite ongoing negotiations between the NFL and the NFL Players Association regarding coronavirus protocols and testing.

Banding together for change worked earlier this offseason when a video by Michael Thomas and other Black players forced the hand of Roger Goodell to respond and state that the league was 100% wrong and how they handled the Anthem protests in the wake of George Floyd dying at the hands of police.
