For Patrick Mahomes, he is getting set to ht the field on Thursday to open the 2023 NFL regular season against the Detroit Lions.
He is coming off a season where No quarterback in NFL history had ever been responsible for more yards in an NFL season than him. Mahomes finished the season with 5,614 yards — 5,250 yards passing, 358 yards rushing, and 6 yards receiving — to set the all-time record.
His 5,250 passing yards ranks fourth in NFL history behind Manning’s record. He became only the second quarterback in NFL history with multiple 5,000-yard and 40-touchdown seasons.
Mahomes is looking to recreate his 2022 season by winning the Super Bowl and winning the MVP.
