Usually, the preseason will produce several outstanding plays, but rarely a highlight as excellent as Patrick Mahomes flipping a behind-the-back pass to tight end Travis Kelce.
It seems that these crazy plays that Mahomes performs are often planned and not completely random. However, he just revealed the funny reason he attempted the unusual pass in the first place.
“Travis didn’t run the route he was supposed to run… I was mad, I was pissed off at Travis…out of spite, I threw a behind-the-back pass,” Mahomes said. “But now it’s going to be a highlight.“
It was one of the funniest moments you’ll ever hear in a mid-game preseason interview. Of course, Mahomes was completely joking, and nobody took it too seriously. It even had many online joining in on the jokes.
“Bro threw a behind the pass out of spite yeah pack it up we’ll try again next year,” one comment said.
“Let’s be honest Patrick was flexing. And it worked that was so freakin dope lol,” another said.

“They just out here toying with teams at this point, 3peat incoming smh,” a third added.
If Mahomes has any similar plays lined up like this during the regular season then it might already be time for planning for next year.
Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City Chiefs Look To Three-Peat As Super Bowl Champions
It’s no surprise that entering the season, the Chiefs will be one of the most favored teams to make and win the Super Bowl.
With the Chiefs winning it all the last two seasons, Mahomes has a serious chance to lead them to another championship this year and could become the first team to win the Super Bowl three years in a row.
If that does happen, it would make a strong case for Mahomes to start rivaling Tom Brady in any GOAT conversations.
