Tyreek Hill desperately wants everybody to know that he is more than happy with Tua Tagovailoa as his new quarterback after he was traded to the Miami Dolphins.
He even stated that his new QB is a more accurate passer than his former teammate, Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes.
“Obviously, like I’m gonna go with 15 as the strongest arm but as far as accuracy-wise, I’m going with Tua all day,” Hill said on his new It Needed To Be Said podcast.
Hill specifically expressed that he wasn’t utilized consistently during his final season with the Chiefs.
“If teams are gonna give us favorable one-on-one matches against their best corner, I don’t see why teams don’t utilize their best receiver,” Hill said, per Pro Football Talk. “And that’s where probably like me and the Chiefs fell apart right there. When I’m like, yo, I don’t mean to talk or be a diva in some situation but can I see the pill some time, please? Just give me the ball, please.”
On Thursday, Mahomes admitted that he was caught off guard by his comments.

“I’m surprised a little because we love Tyreek here,” Mahomes told reporters, per Harold R. Kuntz of FOX4 News.
However, he ultimately chalked them up to a few different things, one of which was Hill’s competitive spirit.
“Obviously, when you’re the competitor that he is — that’s the thing I loved about Tyreek and I still love, is he wants to win. And I feel like with the coverages that we were getting, defenses were really accounting for him, so we had to go other places,” Mahomes said at a minicamp news conference. “But when he’s a competitor like that, you want to have a chance to impact the game. So I know he wanted to get the ball as much as possible so he could help us win. It wasn’t a selfish thing.
“But it definitely — it didn’t seem — I mean, we were winning football games, especially at the end of the season. So I didn’t think he really kind of brought that to our attention. But now we just kind of move on and we keep going with the guys that we have here and we try to win football games.”
Mahomes also seemed to imply that Hill’s reported issues with Kansas City were brought up in an effort to help him roll out his new podcast.
“I’m sure [his comments] had something to do with trying to get his podcast some stuff, get it rolling,” Mahomes said. “But definitely I still love Tyreek. He’s a one-of-a-kind player.”
Hill had a career-high 111 receptions for 1,239 yards and nine touchdowns in 2021.
In the last season, Patrick Mahomes had started in 17 games. He threw for 4839 yards with 37 touchdown passes and 13 interceptions.
