The first blockbuster trade of the 2021 NFL draft season came in the form of the San Francisco 49ers reportedly acquiring the No. 3 overall pick from the Miami Dolphins.
The 49ers will send the No. 12 selection, first- and third-round picks in 2022 and a first-rounder in 2023 to Miami.
It was a move that even left Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes speechless.
The Kansas City Chiefs QB posted a response to All-Pro tight end George Kittle, who said “Oh wow.”
Despite the immediate rumors, ESPN’s Adam Schefter added the 49ers will hold on to quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo and “have no plans to trade him.”
Garoppolo’s status as San Francisco’s long-term quarterback has been in question since the 2020 season ended. He threw for 1,096 yards with seven touchdowns and five interceptions.
