A few days ago, Tampa Police said the two-year-old daughter of Tampa Bay Buccaneers linebacker Shaquil Barrett tragically lost her life.
His daughter, Arrayah, fell into the family’s swimming pool and drowned. While she was transported to the hospital and “lifesaving measures [were] taken,” she was pronounced dead shortly after.
The Buccaneers released a statement offering their love and support:
They weren’t the only ones as Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes would take to Twitter and send prayers to barrett and his family.
“Prayers to the entire Barrett family,” Mahomes tweeted.

Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times noted police said there is an ongoing investigation, but it was believed to be accidental with no suspicious activity. No arrests are expected to be made in this case.
Prior to signing with Tampa Bay as a free agency before of the 2019 season, Barrett spent the first four years of his career with the Denver Broncos. In March 2021, the two-time Pro Bowler and two-time Super Bowl victor signed a four-year, $72 million deal with the Buccaneers.
Prayers sent to Barrett and his entire family and friends during this difficult time. We can only hope that he can find peace with the situation.
