Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made an appearance on ESPN’s Manningcast during Monday Night Football in Week 10.
He certainly had something to say.
Shortly after retiring following Super Bowl LVII, former Chiefs quarterback Chad Henne revealed an odd story where he said Patrick Mahomes wears the same pair of red underwear for every game.
Mahomes joined ESPN’s “ManningCast” for the Broncos-Bills game and he confirmed it was true.
“First, my wife Brittany got them for me, so I’m not throwing you all down, but I have to wear them,” Mahomes said. “At the same time, I threw them on that first season, we had a pretty good season that season.
“I only wear them for game day though, so they’re not too worn down, they’re not like these nasty (underwear), I clean them. I wash them every once in a while at least. I mean if we’re on a hot streak, I can’t wash them, you know? I’ve just got to keep it rolling. As long as we’re winning. I’ll keep the superstition going.”
Clearly, it has worked as Mahomes has won two Super Bowls and two MVP awards across his first six seasons in the league.

He also has multiple children so the underwear thing doesn’t gross out his wife.
