Don’t expect Patrick Mahomes to comment on his brother’s latest controversy, but his social media activity is all we need to know how he feels about the situation.
Jackson Mahomes, the brother of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, has apologized after he came under fire for a TikTok he recorded during Sunday’s game against the Washington Football Team. The 21-year-old posted a video of himself dancing on what appeared to be a tribute to late Washington player Sean Taylor, who died in 2007.
Jackson is seen dancing inside of a roped off area on the sidelines of FedExField in Washington, D.C. Inside the area where Jackson recorded his dance, the grass is painted with a large 21, Taylor’s jersey number.
On Monday morning, former NFL WR Torrey Smith commented on the situation, stating, “It’s clearly not boxed off. This isn’t as big of a deal as folks are making it out to be. Blame the folks that didn’t fence off the spot or put the number in a better location where fans weren’t allowed.”
Mahomes agreed with it as social media users noticed he ‘liked’ the post.

In an apology shared on Twitter Sunday night, Jackson wrote, “I want to sincerely apologize for accidentally being on the Sean Taylor #21 at FedEx Field. We were directed to stand in that area and I meant absolutely no disrespect to him or his family.”
The Washington Football Team retired Taylor’s number during Sunday’s game, making him only the third player in the team’s history to receive the honor.
