Patrick Mahomes is going to get paid.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback will sign an extension this offseason and he believes the deal will land somewhere above $40 million per season.
He added the framework might be around five years and $200 million for the new deal.
He is currently in the third year of his four-year, $16.4 million contract.
The 23-year-old is coming off an MVP campaign and is already on tap to possibly throw for over 50 touchdowns and 5,000 yards this season. So far in 2019, Mahomes had completed 71.9 percent of his passes for 1.195 yards, 10 touchdowns and no interceptions.
