Patrick Mahomes is not a fan of a rule change by the NFL.
The NFL has temporarily tabled the idea of flex-scheduling Thursday night games until May, however, they did move forward with another change to the mid-week game. NFL fans could see the same team on Thursday Night Football more than one time during the 2023 season.
The league’s owners approved a change that permits teams to play on TNF two times in a single season, per NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.

Through the end of the 2022 season NFL teams were allowed to play only one Thursday night game on a short week, so this would be a pretty significant change. Under this change, some teams might not play any short-week games, while others might have to play multiple.
His dislike of the idea likely pertains to the health and safety concerns that are inherent in playing NFL games on short rest. These short rest games typically lead to bad games being played and no team is immune to playing terribly after they just played on Sunday.

Players who prefer not to play on Thursday nights with short rest might have to worry about doing so more than once in a season after Tuesday’s developments.
Amazon is tied into an 11-year, billion-dollar TV deal to exclusively broadcast Thursday night games, so there is some obvious pressure to have good games.
