It turns out that one of the Chiefs’ most impressive plays, as well as one of the easiest on the night, came off an incorrect formation.
KC’s final touchdown, the one Skyy Moore practically walked in, didn’t actually go according to plan. However, Patrick Mahomes was able to get Moore into the end zone unbothered.

After Kadarius Toney took the Chiefs inside the five-yard line with a 65-yard punt return, Andy Reid attempted to call a timeout as he realized the team was lined up in the wrong formation. The timeout was not granted but, luckily, Mahomes recognized the error too.
The quarterback still managed to turn the incorrect setup into a TD.
The Chiefs coaches couldn’t believe their eyes and, when the quarterback reached the sidelines, Matt Naggy grabbed him and shouted, “We were in the wrong F**king formation!”
“I know we were. I know,” Mahomes replied. “That’s why I went to motion him right.”

Just goes to show why one hardly needs to worry once Mahomes is out there.
