It’s not often we see an upset Patrick Mahomes, but that’s exactly what we saw as his team took on the Colts today.
At the end of the first half, Mahomes and Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy got into an animated conversation on their way towards the locker room. As thingds got more heated, head coach Andy Reid eventually had to step in and break things up.
Mahomes was not pleased with the fact that Bieniemy was content with running out the clock at the end of the half. The Chiefs were easily in range for Patrick Mahomes to take a shot into the end zone with a Hail Mary.
The Chiefs’ OC wasn’t in the mood, however, and so he decided to just go into the half with the 14-10 lead — much to the disappointment of Mahomes.
The Chiefs entered the game with a 2-0 record after an impressive victory against the Chargers on Thursday Night Football last week. They got off to a slow start and were trailing the Colts 7-0 thanks to a muffed punt, but they have since clawed their way back and taken the lead.
