The NFL’s rules are very clear: players are not allowed to promote beer in any way shape or form. Patrick Mahomes still does it, but he is smart enough to get around those rules.
Kansas City Chiefs’ Patrick Mahomes is in a new commercial for Coors Light, but he’s not selling beer. Just last year, Mahomes appeared in the Coors Light commercial that was actually for a Coors flash light.
This year, he’s back in yet another commercial, but it’s for a Coors Light bear.
In the video, Mahomes and the Coors ‘bear’ hang out together and appear to have a bit of a bromance as they have BBQ, a movie night, and play golf together.
The best part of the video is when Mahomes put a paper bag over the bear’s head while on the beach since you’re not allowed to drink beer on the beach unless it’s concealed. Incredibly done.
Marketing genius. Coors have managed to wriggle their way around the rules with ingenious play on words.

There’s no doubt that this was a hilariously clever way of bypassing the NFL’s strict rules.
We simply cannot wait to see what he and Coors Light have in store for many years to come and there is nothing the league can do about it.
