Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid could be in hot water with the NFL after criticizing the referees following their loss to the Bills.
Chiefs players were incensed after having a go-ahead touchdown struck off on account of Kadarius Toney being offside on the pertinent snap. The call not only sealed a win for the Bills but also scrubbed one of the weekend’s best highlights from the books.
Both Mahomes and Andy Reid went after the refs in their postgame interviews, with the quarterback having launched a tirade while he was on the field in which he was heard swearing at them while the clock wound down.
“Another game we’re talking about the refs,” he said after the game. “It’s not what we want for the NFL. It’s not what we want for football. Let us play the game. Then whatever happens happens.”
Reid, meanwhile, called the officiating “A bit embarrassing.”
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the player and coach could be in trouble as a result of their comments. Rapoport claims to have been told by a source that their statements will be reviewed by the league.
