The NFL regular season has only two weeks remaining with the playoff picture still cloudy for many teams.
The Kansas City Chiefs are struggling like they haven’t in years. For the first time since Patrick Mahomes assumed the mantle under center for the team, Kansas City has lost six games in a single season.
Just recently, the Chiefs have lost three of their last four games and four of their last six.
Because everything has been such a struggle, the team is making some significant changes.
The Chiefs are trimming their offensive game plan ahead of Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals, according to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.
The team is expected to have fewer plays and personnel packages, which will likely result in fewer players touching the ball in Week 17, report Rapoport and Pelissero.

The reigning Super Bowl champions have scored 20-plus points in only one of their past four games while turning the ball over seven times in that span.
Under Andy Reid, the Chiefs’ offense has never ranked outside the top six in scoring and now they are the 11th-best unit in points per game this year.
Patrick Mahomes has a passer rating of 91.7 with 3938 yards, 26 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions in 15 games in this season.
