Patrick and Brittany Mahomes have both been criticized for certain actions taken in the wake of the mass shooting which occured at the end of the Chiefs parade this week.
The Chiefs quarterback has taken heat for attending a private dinner just hours after the incident while his wife’s social media comments have attracted some backlash as well.
However, they’re both also being praised after making an effort to visit the victims of the heartbreaking incident that left one dead and dozens more injured.
Fox4KC’s Malik Jackson has reported that the couple visited two of the young victims at hospital on Friday.
“An 8&10 year-old shot while celebrating their hometown team. The family tells us both are ok but have a long road to recovery. @fox4kc,” he noted.
The kids shown above are the daughters of Elizabeth “Lisa” Lopez-Galvan, a local DJ and radio host who was killed on the day. KMBC reports that they are “making progress in their recovery after undergoing surgery.”
