The New York Post is reporting that Pat McAfee could walk away from his multimillion-dollar deal with FanDuel.
The former NFL punter is now one of the most popular sports media personalities on the internet and hosts his own podcast, The Pat McAfee Show, which regularly guest stars Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
That he has someone of Rodgers’ caliber as a staple has certainly helped moved things along but, now, it’s being reported that McAfee could part ways with FanDuel.
“It is in play that McAfee could walk away from his four-year, $120 million-plus deal with FanDuel, The Post has learned,” the publication notes.
McAfee is in the second year of a four-year deal worth $30 million a year, having opted to go out on his own after a stint with Barstool Sports. He has also had spells with WWE, where he worked as an announcer and even a wrestler.
The 35-year-old is understood to have held talks with companies such as Amazon, while Google could also be in the realms of possibility as it pertains to future plans. The media giants only recently secured a deal for NFL Sunday Ticket, so there could be something in the pipeline there.

With Rodgers now the subject of major speculation regarding his own future, McAfee’s platform could be the one on which the announcement is made as the QB is set for an appearance on his show this Wednesday at 1:00 PM ET.
Rodgers is likely to be traded to the New York Jets ahead of the 2023 NFL season but retirement is still a possibility. We just might find out today.
