Pat McAfee is set to leave FanDuel for ESPN and has reportedly signed a five-year deal with the latter.
That’s according to the New York Post’s Andrew Marchand, who has revealed that the former NFL kicker is taking a massive pay cut to fashion the switch.
Marchand reports that the deal is worth around $85 million, which means McAfee will make around $17 million a year, nearly half of what he made annually at FanDuel. The 36-year-old was on a four-year, $120 million deal with the betting company and making $30 million a year.
How The Move Impacts ThePat McAfee Show
The sports analyst will keep The Pat McAfee Show and has announced that he will not change the way he delivers content. But, as of this fall, it will move to multiple ESPN platforms, including the network’s free YouTube channel, its cable channel, and ESPN+.
ESPN did not comment on the specifics of the deal after a request from the post but Marchand adds that McAfee will continue on in his role as a weekly analyst on College Football GameDay while he will retain control of his own show and will be able to invite guests such as Ian Rapoport, who is a regular.
McAfee also refused to confirm the figures.

“Interesting number,” he told the Post. “I don’t talk about the business side of it all, the actual numbers and such.”
While he will be making a lot less money, McAfee will not have to take care of production and pay staff, as ESPN will be taking care of that. He has also expressed a desire to scale things back as he’s just welcomed a baby girl into his family.
