There was a time when calling NFL games on Monday Night Football was one of the most coveted spots in the sports broadcasting world.
Two former quarterbacks didn’t seem to think so and stayed away from doing so. Tony Romo elected to stay on with CBS and Peyton Manning turned down the gig yet again.
After years of declining relevance and ratings, the worldwide leader in sports is swinging for the fence again when it was reported by Outkick the Coverage that they made an eight-figure offer to New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees to be in the Monday Night Football booth as soon as he retires.

He has every right to feel that way. ESPN might be keeping McAfee in mind for something else, possibly college related. That is the only thing that makes sense as to why they wouldn’t be going with him for the ‘Monday Night Football’ broadcast booth.
