Retirement is still a possibility where Aaron Rodgers is concerned, though it appears as if a trade to the New York Jets is inevitable.
The quarterback went on a darkness retreat a few weeks ago and now seems intent on keeping everyone in the dark for as long as he possibly can while the Jets, their players, and their fans wait on his decision.
The saga seemed to come to a close on Monday when Trey Wingo reported that the deal was done, but the relief was short-lived as it was revealed that was actually not the case shortly after. Now, Pat McAfee is claiming that Rogers could still retire.
The veteran QB is pretty close to the former punter and is a regular on his podcast, The Pat McAfee Show. While Rodgers has used the show to announce past decisions, McAfee couldn’t promise any revelations would be made this Tuesday while also noting that the QB could still end up calling it quits.
Rodgers has narrowed things down to either remaining with the Green Bay Packers, joining the Jets via trade or retiring. The Jets appear to be averse to entering 2023/24 with Rodgers as their quarterback so we’re probably at two now as it pertains to options.
