Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford has undergone a renaissance as he’s back to playing at his brilliant best. And his team is all the better for it, having won five of their last six games with a playoff spot well within its grasp.
Stafford was in action against the New Orleans Saints on Thursday night and had another impressive outing as they won 30-22. The QB completed 24-of-34 passes for 328 yards and two touchdowns without an interception.
One of those 24 made passes stood out from the rest, though. Stafford made an incredible sidearm throw at one point, finding wide receiver Demarcus Robinson on a slant route and putting the ball in a spot where he was the only one who could get to it.
While it was hardly the biggest play of the night, it was the most aesthetically pleasing and had fans going off.
“Nasty sidearm from Matthew Stafford,” the Rams wrote as the caption to a tweet.
The QB made that seem like an understatement.

“I think it’s so funny that people wrote him off as washed after last season bc he was hurt. As if he didn’t win a Super Bowl and throw 40+ touchdowns literally the year prior,” one user wrote.

Star pitcher Shoehei Ohtani was in attendance on the night, having joined the L.A Dodgers earlier this month. Stafford must have had him in mind when he threw that ball.
You’re up, Shohei.
