David Tepper was a chipper guy on today.
On Wednesday, the Carolina Panthers owner was happy to introduce Matt Rhule to the local media after getting him away from Baylor and signing him to a seven-year, $60 million deal.
During that press conference, Tepper could be seen holding his wife’s waist, but then seemingly slipped down to her butt, to which she responded by grabbing it and putting his hand right back where it was.
“The biggest thing I’ll say is when they offered a chance to be here for seven years, it spoke to me about the belief that we were going to do this together and do it the right way and there was no doubt,” Rhule said. “There was really no doubt the night before from my family and there was really no doubt from me, after just having that synergy that we were going to be here.”
Despite having limited experience at the professional level, the 62-year-old Tepper decided to make Rhule one of the NFL’s highest-paid head coaches with a deal that could have a total value toward $70 million.
