A former NFL player approaching the age of 40 proved he still got it as he ran the 40-yard dash in an impressive 4.5 seconds.
Adam “Pacman” Jones had a tumultuous time in the league, both on and off the field, but it appears he can still hang with the best of them after performing the feat mentioned above.
The average time at the NFL Scouting Combine, which typically features players who just hit their 20s, is 4.48 seconds. Pacman ran slightly longer than the average time, though he’s going to turn 40 this September.
The remarkable accomplishment was in full exhibition on the Pat McAfee Show this week. Whether Jones could run the distance faster than 4.5 had been a subject of debate for a few days, with 56 percent of the voting viewers predicting he could not do it.
“People have been telling me that shit my whole life,” Jones said before his sprint, which you could see right below:
Well, the naysayers were technically right at Jones actually crossed the line at 4.515, but that’s still an amazing feat given his age. It’s even more impressive when you consider the fact that he ran the 40-yarder in 4.42 seconds while in the NFL.
