Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers briefly addressed the (many) trade talks and rumors surrounding him.
Rodgers discussed his future during his latest appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.” When asked if he’s made a decision on his playing future, the four-time league MVP and future Hall of Famer simply stated he has “some people who love to track that stuff,” adding that he’s “been made aware of” the trade speculation.
Rodgers requested a trade from the Packers during the 2021 offseason, despite leading the team to a second straight NFC Championship Game appearance. After back-and-forth talks, he ultimately decided to return to the Packers.
Last year, Rodgers agreed to a three-year contract extension worth $150.8 million, seemingly locking him with the organization for the remainder of his career. But Rodgers still hasn’t committed to playing football in 2023, and perhaps he’s already played his final NFL snap.
Rodgers and the Packers endured a disappointing 2022 regular season in which they finished 8-9, marking the franchise’s first losing season under Matt LaFleur. The Packers lost a must-win home game to the Detroit Lions (a team the Packers have owned at home since 1990), in Week 18 that ended their playoff hopes.
