The Green Bay Packers fell 20-16 in a must-win game to the NFC North rival Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field on Sunday night, thus ending their roller-coaster of a 2022 season.
Green Bay needed a win over Detroit to qualify for the postseason, but a handful of costly mistakes in the fourth quarter prevented that from happening. The visitors stunned the Packers in front of a silent Lambeau Field crowd, allowing the Seattle Seahawks to sneak in as the NFC’s final wild card team.
There was a strange play in the waning seconds of the first half involving Packers cornerback Rasul Douglas. As the Lions were preparing a field goal, Douglas came in the middle and tried reaching for the football.
Douglas was issued a personal foul penalty, and Lions kicker Michael Badgley made the 33-yard field goal attempt to end the half, cutting the Packer lead to three.
Douglas took to Twitter and explained his actions on the play, adding that he took responsibility for hitting Dan Skipper of the Lions.
