The Green Bay Packers have added two players to their active roster ahead of their game against the Detroit Lions on ‘Thursday Night Football’.
The Packers are fully aware that they’ll be in for it this week, given the Lions’ form this season. And they’re also keen on making a push for the playoffs at 4-6, with Detroit looking to separate themselves from the pack in the NFC North.
Green Bay announced the signings of running back James Robinson and wide receiver Bo Melton from their practice squad this Wednesday.
A team statement reads:
“The Green Bay Packers signed WR Bo Melton and RB James Robinson from the practice squad to the active roster, placed TE Luke Musgrave and RB Emanuel Wilson on injured reserve, and elevated FB Henry Pearson and S Benny Sapp III to the active roster for gameday. The transactions were announced Wednesday by General Manager Brian Gutekunst.”
Robinson comes in as a replacement for the injured Aaron Jones, who is unlikely to play this week. The former 1,000-yard RB has been with the team on two occasions this season and will finally get an opportunity to play.

Melton, meanwhile, has been with the Packers since he was picked up from the Seattle Seahawks practice squad last December.
